Hernando de Soto is the President of the Institute for Liberty and Democracy (ILD) based in Peru. The ILD has been described as one of the most important think-tanks in the World. He is known for his work on the informal economy and the importance of business and property rights in economic development.
"The World's Greatest Living Economist"
Between 1988 and 1995, de Soto and the ILD spearheaded around four hundred initiatives, laws, and regulations that reshaped Peru's economic landscape.
